Joey Leon is the founder and financial advisor behind Leon Financial Group, an independent financial planning firm based in Lititz, Pennsylvania. He works with families, professionals, and individuals approaching retirement who want more than someone to simply manage their investments. They want an advisor who will take the time to understand their life, explain their options clearly, and help them make smart financial decisions along the way.

Joey Leon
”For Joey, financial planning has always been about more than numbers.
Every family has different goals, concerns, and priorities. For one family, success may mean retiring early. For another, it may mean helping children through college, buying a second home, traveling more, caring for aging parents, or simply feeling more organized and confident about the future.
That is why Joey believes financial planning should start with a conversation, not a product.
He takes the time to understand what matters most to each client and then helps connect the different pieces of their financial life. That may include investments, retirement planning, Social Security, Medicare, taxes, insurance, education planning, cash flow, old retirement accounts, and major life decisions.
”Just as importantly, Joey believes clients should understand the advice they are receiving.
Financial topics can become complicated quickly, but Joey’s goal is to make them easier to understand. He wants clients to leave a meeting knowing not only what they are doing, but why they are doing it. Questions are encouraged, and there is no expectation that clients should already know the answers.
That educational approach is a major part of how Joey works. Whether he is meeting one-on-one with a family, speaking at a retirement seminar, or helping employees understand their workplace retirement plan, the goal is the same: give people useful information so they can make better decisions for themselves and their families.
Joey’s approach to financial planning is also shaped by his own life as a husband and father. He understands firsthand that families are constantly balancing competing priorities. There is retirement to save for, children to raise, vacations to plan, homes to maintain, college to consider, and everyday life to enjoy along the way. Real life rarely fits neatly into a spreadsheet. That is one of the reasons Joey believes so strongly in ongoing financial planning. Financial questions do not conveniently appear once a year during an annual review. They show up when a new job opportunity comes along, when a child starts college, when the market becomes volatile, when retirement suddenly feels much closer, or when a family faces an unexpected decision. Joey wants to be the person clients feel comfortable calling in those moments.
For clients approaching retirement, much of Joey’s work focuses on helping make the transition from accumulating money to creating a strategy for using it. Questions about retirement income, Social Security, Medicare, taxes, investment risk, and withdrawal strategies all become increasingly important.
For younger families, the questions may look different. The focus might be managing debt, building investments, choosing employee benefits, protecting a growing family, saving for education, or simply making sure today’s decisions are moving them in the right direction.
The details may change, but the philosophy stays the same: build a plan around the life the client actually wants to live.
Outside of Leon Financial Group, Joey’s life revolves heavily around family and community. He and his wife, Jamie, are raising their children, Jace and Josie, in the Lititz, PA area. Joey also spends a significant amount of time coaching youth baseball through Warwick Little League. Coaching has reinforced many of the same principles he brings into financial planning: preparation matters, fundamentals matter, communication matters, and lasting results are usually built through consistent effort over time. When he is not working or coaching baseball, Joey enjoys golfing, woodworking, following his New York teams: Yankes, Giants, Rangers, & Knicks, and spending time with family and friends.
”At the end of the day, Joey does not believe financial planning should simply be about accumulating more money.
Money is a tool. It should help create opportunities, provide flexibility, support the people you care about, and allow you to build a life around the things that matter most.
That is the kind of relationship Joey set out to create through Leon Financial Group, and it remains the foundation of the firm today.
